Q. How do I open an account?
A: Choose a plan that you would like to subscribe and bank in the package price plus one time RM30.00 deposit into our Maybank Account (MBB A/C No: 112317062036, Name : Chan Lam Seng) and order your books.
Q: How do I order the books that I would like to rent?
A: Browse through our books online and decide which books you want. Then click on the Order Form link on top of the page. Fill out the form and remember to give your details such as name, contact number, delivery address, the details of the books that you would like to order such as code, author and title. Then click the Submit button. We will receive the order online and will process it. We may call you to clarify your order via the contact number you have provided.
Q: How do you charge for renting the books?
A: Please refer to “Price And Plans” link on top of the page for details.
Q: How do I make payment for the books that I would like to rent?
A: We don’t charge on per book basis. Choose the plan that best suits you. Pay the amount stated in that plan by banking it into our Maybank Account (MBB A/C No: 112317062036, Name : Chan Lam Seng)
Q: Do I pay each time I order?
A: No. You pay for the plan that you have chosen. For example, you chose Leisure Pack. You bank in RM40 into our account. (if this is the first time you are borrowing, you have to bank in additional RM30.00 refundable deposit to open an account) You are entitled to borrow up to a maximum of 5 books. Once you have borrowed up to 5 books, your credit is being used up. In order for you to borrow more books, you have to bank in another RM40 for another entitlement of 5 books.
Q: How do I confirm that you have received my payment?
A: Simply use the Enquiry Form to drop us a message. Let us know the date, time and amount that you have bank in. Remember to leave your name, contact number and email . We will email you to confirm receipt of the payment.
Q: How many books can I borrow at any one time?
A: To save time spent on delivery, we insist on two books per delivery except for the last delivery of the Plan you have chosen, where we will deliver the one last book for that Plan. For example, you are entitled to borrow up to 5 books. First and second delivery will be two books each. Third delivery will be 1 book.
Q: How do I return the books that I have borrowed?
A: After you have finished reading your books, place your order for another 2 books. We will collect back the books that you have finished reading when we deliver the 2 new books you ordered.
Q: Can I order one more book after I have finished reading my first book but before I start reading my second book?
A: No. Due to the traffic condition in Klang Valley and to save on delivery time and cost (remember we keep the cost low so that you can enjoy more books at lower cost), we insist that you finish reading your 2 books before you place another order.The first 2 books must be returned when we deliver your new order. No partial return is allowed.
Q: Do I have to pay any deposit to open an account?
A: Yes. We require a refundable deposit of RM30 for you to open an account.
Q: Why do you need to collect the deposit?
A: We understand that our customers are book lovers and would take good care of the books. But unfortunately, accidents do happen sometimes unintentionally and books may be misplaced and lost. But if nothing happens, the deposit will be refunded in full when you decide to close the account with us.
Q: How can I get back my deposit?
A: Write to us using the Enquiry Form informing us that you wish to terminate your account and we will arrange your deposit to be paid back to you by issuing you a cheque to be sent to your delivery address.
Q: Must I return the books within a certain time period?
A: At the moment we allowed you to keep the books for 3 months. We will review this from time to time. It is our wish and aim to allow unlimited time period but for a start and due to the constraint of limited books in our collection, we have to limit it to 3 months. We will advise you accordingly once we have acquired more books.
Q: Is there any incentive for early return of books?
A: We encourage you to return the books early so that many more readers will benefit from the books. As an incentive for you to do that, we award 2 points for books returned to us within a month, 1 point for books returned within 2 months and nil point if returned within 3 months.
Q: Is there any late charges if I return the books after 3 months?
A: At the moment we do not charge for any late returns but 1 point will be deducted from your incentive points for every month delayed ie 1 point to be deducted if the books are returned 1 month late and 2 points if 2 months late and so on.
Q: What do I do with the incentive points awarded to me?
A: You get to read a book for FREE for every 50 points collected. Simply drop us a message that you would like to redeem your points on your next order and we will deliver the book to you together with the other two books that you have ordered. That means to say that you get to order three books when you redeem your 50 points.
Q. Your order form allows me to key in only two books. How do I key in the order for the third book if I redeem my 50 points?
A: Submit your order for two books first. After that click on the order form again and key in the book you would like to redeem and remember to put in the remarks column to indicate that this order is a redemption of incentive points. Do the same if you would like to order any book from the Free Section.
Q. Is the redemption of incentives points restricted to only books from the Free Section?
A: No. You can redeem books from any sections but only 1 book is allowed per redemption.
Q. Can I accumulate my incentives point and redeem more than 50 points at any one time?
A: You can accumulate your points but you are only allowed to redeem maximum 50 points per order.
Q: How do I keeep track of the points that I have collected?
A: We will indicate in our Delivery Order the number of points you have collected every time we deliver the books to you. Once you have redeemed your points, the points collected will be cleared and any unused points will be carried forward.
Q: How do you deliver the books to me?
A: We will deliver to books to you direct to your doorstep via our despatch.
Q: How soon can you deliver the books that I have ordered?
A: We will deliver them within 3 working days.
Q: Do I have to pay for books that was damaged while in my possession?
A: Nominal charges do apply if the book is damaged. Please write to us and we will assess the condition and inform you the charges.
Q: Can I buy the book that I like?
A: We do not sell the books because we believe that the more the books change hands, many more people would benefit from them.
Q: Can I change from one plan to another?
A: Yes. You can changed from one Plan to another provided that you have utilised all the credit for the initial Plan that you have paid. For example, you have paid RM40 for Leisure Pack which entitles you to borrow 5 books. After you have borrowed 5 books, you can change to another Plan of your choice.
Q: Is there any additional charges for changing Plans?
A: No. You just have to pay for the new Package price as listed in Price & Plans.
Q: Why do you have so many Plans?
A: We understand that not all customers read at the same rate. Some take it easy and read only when they are free. Some are avid readers and read a lot. For those who read a lot, we have Bookworm Pack which entitles you to more books at a cheaper rate.
Q: How many different book sections do you have?
A: Currently we have 4 sections ie Normal, Promotion, Hot List and Free. Under the Normal section, you can borrow 2 books at a time. The Promotion section allows you to borrow one and get another book to read for free. The Hot List section restricts you to only 1 book at a time. The Free section allows you to borrow a book to read for free.
Q: Can I borrow just from the Free section?
A: No. Books from the Free section can only be borrowed together with your normal order. When you borrow 2 books of your choice, you can choose 1 book from the Free section to read for free. We will deliver the read for free book together with the other 2 books. The free book must be returned together with the other 2 books. No partial returned is allowed.
Q: How many free books can I borrow at any one time?
A: You are allowed only 1 free books per order.
Q: Can I borrow more books than what is allowed for a particular Plan that I signed up?
A: Yes. We have a Promotion Section where you can borrow 1 book and get to read another for FREE. In such circumstance, for any book you order in that section, you are entitled to order another one for free from the same section. So if you order 2 books from the Promotion Section, you will get to read 4 books. The free books will be delivered together with the main order and it must be returned together as well. Split delivery or return is not allowed.
Q: What is the Hot List section?
A: Hot List section consists of books which are high in demand.
Q: Why am I not allowed to order 2 books from the Hot List section?
A: Books in the Hot List are high in demand. We only allow you to borrow 1 book at a time from this section. We do not want you to hold back the book after you have finished while you start with your second book. This will prevent other people from borrowing the book and the book will be sitting at your home waiting for you to finish the second book before you can return them to us.
Q: How long can I keep the books in the Hot List?
A: Due to the high demand, books in the Hot List have to be returned within a month of borrowing.
Q: Can I borrow 1 book from the Hot List and another from the normal list since I am entittled to borrow 2 books at a time?
A: No. When you borrow 1 book from the Hot List, you are not allowed to borrow from any other sections.
Q: Can I borrow 1 book from the Normal section and another from the Promotion section?
A: Yes you can. In such circumstance, you will get 1 book from the Normal Section and 2 books from the Promotion Section because when you order 1 book from the Promotion Section, you get to read another for FREE. All 3 books will be delivered to you in one delivery and they are to be returned together as well. No partial return allowed.
Q: If I decided to stop borrowing before I utilise the maximum number of books I am entitled to borrow, can I ask for a refund?
A: We regret to inform that no refund will be given if you decide to stop borrowing the number of books you are entitled to. Your credit will be maintained in your account and you can continue to borrow as and when you feel like continuing as long as you don’t close your account.
Q: If I close my account before I utilise the maximum number of books I am entitled to, can I ask for a refund?
A: No. We encourage you to utilise your credit before you close your account. Upon closing your account, your refundable deposit will be refunded to you provided you have returned all the books you have borrowed in good condition.
Q: How can I be assured that this is a legitimate rent a book business?
A: We are not a fly-by-night business setup using a virtual business address or a rented business address. This is a home-based business operating from a permanent home address, owned and not rented located at Taman Mayang Jaya, SS26, Petaling Jaya. This online rent a book business idea was born when we realised the inconvenience book lovers have to go through to rent the books they like.
